Google has launched a new AI-powered assistant within Google Ad Manager, designed to help advertisers and publishers navigate campaign management more efficiently. The tool, called Ask Ad Manager, uses Google’s Gemini AI technology to provide contextual answers to campaign-related questions, identify performance issues, generate reports, and offer tailored recommendations based on an account’s specific data. Rather than requiring users to manually build reports and sift through campaign metrics, the assistant can analyze performance data and surface insights through a conversational interface. Users can also ask follow-up questions to investigate issues in greater detail.
According to Google’s announcement, the assistant aims to simplify troubleshooting by providing “insights and guidance” that help users resolve campaign problems and optimize revenue opportunities. One of the platform’s key differentiators is its ability to deliver personalized recommendations based on the advertiser’s own account data. The system can also generate direct links to relevant sections of Ad Manager, reducing the need to navigate multiple menus and settings manually.
The launch reflects a broader trend across the advertising industry, where AI assistants are increasingly being embedded into marketing platforms to streamline workflows, accelerate analysis, and improve decision-making. While AI-generated recommendations still require human oversight, tools like Ask Ad Manager could significantly reduce the time spent diagnosing campaign issues and extracting actionable insights from large datasets.
