Meta hosted its annual Meta Connect event on 23–24 September 2026, where the company showcased its latest breakthroughs. Their announcements revolved around AI and gadget enhancements:
  • Muse AI & “Muse Charm”: Meta introduced Muse a few weeks ago, a multimodal AI agent that acts as a personalized assistant to automate tasks. During Meta Connect, they introduced Muse Charm, a keychain-sized hardware companion with an interactive avatar screen and fingerprint-activated voice input.
  • More Meta glasses…: The smart glasses portfolio expands even further to include the camera-free Ray-Ban Meta Audio and upgraded Gen 3 Ray-Ban Meta frames featuring 3K video recording. Meta also unveiled ultra-lightweight VR glasses weighing just 100g by offloading processing to a tethered compute puck.
Meta claims that, “With a personal AI agent and industry-leading hardware, this is what the next generation of computing looks like.” Let’s see if they’re right, or whether “Muse Charm” will flop as hard as the Metaverse.
